Local Projects

As the Chief Medical Director for Sustainable Health Empowerment (www.sheworldhealth.org), Dr. Hanh Nguyen-Clark participates in many local projects. In November 2019, SHE members staged the largest health fair ever held in Long Beach with over 60 UCLA student participants from many organizations, including the dental student department. We provided services to 400 people within a day. We held both indoor classroom and outdoor sessions. We offered sessions on various health topics such as stroke prevention, managing diabetes and hypertension, also recognizing mental health problems and where to get hel. We provided free reading and sunglasses, and donated food for the community. Dr. Nguyen-Clark also pledges two separate scholarships for the disadvantaged undergraduate students who are studying to become future health professionals ($1,000 for ten students from local colleges in Los Angeles/Long Beach areas) and for first year medical students of minority background (five $2,000 scholarships offered) over the next five years.
